7th Dragon 2020-II is the direct sequel to 7th Dragon 2020.
It is succeeded by 7th Dragon III Code:VFD, which takes place 79 years in the future.
Plot[edit | edit source]
A year after the events of the first game, Murakumo has moved its main base from the Metropolitan Government Building and is focusing on rebuilding. Unit 13 is called to the Tokyo Sky Tower to rid of some monsters to help the rebuilding process in the tower.
However, a portal suddenly appears at the top of the Sky Tower and the Dragons appear once more to strike down humanity. In response, a special soldier unit, SECT 11 arrive from America with its leaders Shouji Sakuraba and Izumi Sakuraba to supposedly assist in the elimination of the new Dragons. Unit 13 now has to fight against the Dragons once more while dealing with the humans that get in their way.

7th Dragon 2020-II sold nearly 74,000 copies in its first week. a lower debut than its predecessor, 7th Dragon 2020, which was released in November 2011 and sold 122,498 copies at launch. Sales of 2020-II were lower than those of the first 7th Dragon game on Nintendo DS which sold roughly 80,000 copies in its first week.
Additional Information[edit | edit source]
- The popular VOCALOID Miku Hatsune appears as a guest NPC in 7th Dragon 2020-II. If the player saves her from a dragon in her quest, the optional DIVA Mode system option will appear which changes all BGMs into Vocaloid songs sung by Miku.
- A new Class called Idol and new, Lucier character designs, that were not in the first game are introduced.
